Historic Festival 35 Car Show

This is an impressive automobile extravaganza showcasing about 2,000 vintage and collector cars over a four-day period. The festival will feature race car parades throughout the city and host several actual races for those seeking something a little more thrilling.

The Historic Festival 35 Car Show commences on 1st and closes on 4th September, open every day from 9 am to 6 pm at Lime Rock Road Lakeville. Admission fees vary from day-to-day: Friday, $30; Saturday, $65; Sunday, $40; Monday, $65.

Woodstock Fair

The Woodstock Fair is Connecticut’s second oldest agricultural fair with a history of over 200 years. Imagine that; in 1817 someone was attending the very same event, it’s amazing.

Exhibitors showcase their livestock, poultry, and extraordinary farm produce. Local artists also display their crafts, paintings, jewelry, and photography. You can also choose to participate in a friendly apple pie-baking or quilting contest for a cash prize.

The Woodstock Fair begins on 1st through to 4th September, opening every day at 9 am at the Woodstock Fair grounds. Admission fees are $12 per day and free for kids below 10 years.

Blues Views & BBQ Festival

This year’s festival will be the 10th of its kind, happening annually since 2007. The Blues Views & BBQ Festival promises two days of great music and food. Performances this year will include the Connecticut band Alpaca Gnomes, blues singer Selwyn Birchwood, and the soulful Lizzie & the Makers group. There will be plenty of food trucks and stands selling food and beverages, ice cream, wine, and craft beer. The highlight of the festival is the barbeque competition on Saturday where you can be the judge of best wings, chicken, and ribs in the state.

The Blues Views & BBQ Festival kicks off on 2nd and ends on 3rd September at Westport. Admission fees range anywhere between $5 and $90.

Goshen Fair

The Goshen Fair is another veteran in terms of Connecticut fairs and events. The Goshen Fair turns 105 years old this year and will feature entertainment and activities for both adults and kids. Attractions will include horse shows, circus acts, truck pulls, wood cutting demonstrations, pumpkin carving, and basket weaving. There will also be a number of friendly contests including hay bale-tossing and apple fritter-eating. Several musical acts will also be in attendance and on Saturday night you will get to experience a giant fireworks show.

The Golden Fair is scheduled for 2nd to 4th September at the Goshen Fair grounds. Admission fees are $10 and completely free for kids below the age of 12.
