Goals for the New Year

With the coming of 2018, some of us might still be confused about what goals/resolutions to set. Well, this is a very personal thing to figure out, no one can make your resolutions for you. However, our Connecticut Limo Service has come to the conclusion that there are some personal-development goals that can be shared by anyone and everyone. So, if you have been struggling to make resolutions that will push you to better yourself this year, you are in the right place. We have compiled a short list of resolutions that you can adopt as you are figuring out what else you want to achieve.

Start Putting Yourself First

Saying no to others may not be the easiest thing to do, especially if you are dealing with a loved one. But this year, remember that it is okay. This is YOUR life and you should be in full control if you intend to live your best life. Start putting yourself first even if you will be perceived as ‘selfish’ or ‘conceited’. Taking the time to figure out what you want and putting your priorities first; physically, emotionally, spiritually, career-wise, financially etc. will give you the space and time to mold yourself into the best version of yourself. Going with the wind or always giving into what everyone else wants will leave you emotionally drained and at the end of the year it will dawn on you that you didn’t really ‘live’, you simply existed. There is absolutely no shame in wanting to take care of yourself, so stop trying to please everyone and live your life the way it was always meant to be lived; on your own terms.

Keep Track of your Commitments

If you’re looking to improve the quality of your relationships, grow that business, push your career to the next level, get promoted etc., then keeping track of commitments. According to most employers, the one thing that sets apart the highest performing employees from the rest is their commitment and reliability. Unlike everyone else, you don’t have to micro-manage these individuals, you have come to the comfortable conclusion that they will handle their tasks, and these are the people you need on your team. This logic transcends the work environment, it applies in almost all aspects of our lives; personal relationships, business, religious settings, and so forth. So decide to be reliable this year and make sure you deliver on all your commitments and you will gradually notice the quality of your life improve.

Be a Better Financial Manager

Where is all your money going? Can you even account for it? This year, learn where your spending habits are falling short and create a budget that you will strictly adhere to; this is the only way to financial freedom. We often get drawn into spending money that we didn’t intend to spend and in the moment a couple of extra bucks doesn’t seem too significant, but in time small amounts here and there accumulate to something substantial. For example, if you normally find yourself shopping impulsively, give yourself to at least six months before you indulge in the habit again and you will be surprised how much you will have saved. If you can maintain the trend after that, you are well on the way to true financial freedom.
